ProjectPacific: Day 2

Day 2

After an uncomfortable night consisting of little sleep and a lack of wind, we finally have rounded Cape Flattery and are on our way into the open.  It took until 11:30 this morning to be able to fill our sails and make a consistent track.  I am already planning my fourth nap of the day and what my next snack should be.  Exciting stuff.  Although we are much more comfortable now that we are under sail, we are all still getting used to the motion of the boat.

We have been busy checking our surroundings as there is still a lot of shipping, fishing and whale traffic!  It’s day 2 and I’ve already seen more humpback whales than many will ever see in their entire life times.  Definitely becoming more connected to the ocean and Fenwick Light.  Both working together to get us to Hawaii!
