Josh’s enthusiasm is contagious. Farrell and I both rekindled our excitement for crossing oceans that was lost somewhere between the middle of the ocean and Hawaii.
After a late pickup from the airport on Wednesday, we eased Josh into crewing aboard Fenwick Light by moving to an anchorage. He seemed extremely grateful for his one day of just hanging out. We snorkelled on a near by reef, where we made friends with a manta ray and a turtle.
It is 3 pm and we are now starting to lose sight of Oahu in a haze as we head around its most West point between Oahu and Kauai. The wind picked up as soon as we entered the channel, gusting to 25 – 30 knots. We are flying along with water spraying over our bow and are feeling pleased to be on the homeward stretch.
